Ifield Meadows - HCA Update
After a meeting with the HCA on July 22nd at Ifield Meadows, I can advise that the rumours of a Freemasons takover are vastly overrated!
The HCA were met at Ifield Meadows by Cllr John Denman and I, along with Jenny from IVAAC and an officer from Crawley Borough Council. We took them on a tour of the much used pathways around the meadows and introduced them to the signage that has been erected - along with the works that are currently being undertaken by their organisation.
The HCA representatives advised us (after us asking several times!) that the reasoning behind the signage was that they are under new management and they have rolled out a corporate programme across the UK on all of the land that they own. This policy is intended to advise users of their land of their legal position on Health & Safety.....
I did point out on more than one occasion that as part of their "Blanket Corporate Policy" they should have included COMMUNICATION - both to the local councils and to the residents of the areas where the land is well used and part of a conservation area. They did manage to conceed that they were at fault on this issue!!
The bottom line is that Ifield Meadows is their land, and they are perfectly at liberty to place signs wherever they see fit, but after speaking to the Council and the Councillors, they have agreed to take our points and concerns away and review the programme that is going on in Ifield and advise us of their decisions.
COUNCILLOR JOHN DENMAN AND I WILL FIGHT ANY ATTEMPS TO DEVELOP THIS AREA - REGARDLESS OF THE APPLICANT INVOLVED.
